CLUB LAYOUTS

TARRING NEVILLE

Tarring Neville is our 0 Gauge club layout. It represents a preserved branch line. The baseboards and trackwork are complete. Work is now progressing on the scenary and rewiring the electrics.

00 GAUGE CLUB LAYOUT

Our 00 Gauge club layout is currently under reconstruction. New baseboards have been constructed. The trackwork is where our attention is now focused. The layout is to be based somewhere on the Great Central Railway in the 1950s/1960s. The layout will feature a large fiddle yard. We are using parts of the old layout as a club test track.

MEMBERS LAYOUTS

KILN ROAD

Kiln Road is a 00 gauge layout based on the North Eastern Region. The layout started as an end to end layout, but has grown in size. It is now an oval. The layout features Tyneside third rail. This layout has been exhibited at many places including as far away as Glasgow! The layout is owned by club chairman Ian.

VENTNOR

Ventnor is a 00 gauge layout. The layout is based on the location of Ventnor on the Isle of Wight. The track plan has been shrunk to fit the space available. The layout gives an excellent representation of the unusual station that was at Ventnor until the line from Shanklin closed in 1966. The station has an island platform. There was no footbridge or subway, so a moveable walkway was used which was placed over the tracks to connect the platforms. The cliffe face forms the backscene to the layout. There is plenty of intresting shunting to be seen on this layout. This layout is owned by Frank who is club president.

BORCHESTER MARKET

Borchester Market is a famous layout. It has featured on a model railway dvd and in the British Railway Modelling Annual. The layout is 00 gauge. This old and intresting layout is well known and well liked by model railway enthusiasts. The layout is jointly owned by three club members.

N GAUGE AMERICAN

This American based layout is N gauge. The layout has an intresting track plan which fits nicely into quite a small space. The layout features a small town and mountains. This layout is owned by Frank.

N GAUGE LAYOUT

This layout is still under construction. It is a small layout designed, so that it can be transported in a Mini. The baseboard has been built and the track is done. A big thankyou to Sid for doing those jobs. The layout currently needs the scenery work doing. I have slowly been purchasing a few bits of rolling stock. I have just got hold of some cardboard to do the backscene. When the layout is complete it will hopefully represent late 1950s/early 1960s British Railways Western Region. This layout is still at the unfinished project stage. The layout is owned by Chris (CJ) who is the club webmaster.
